Biography
I am a postdoctoral researcher within the PROTEINSCAPES project. My research interests mainly span the fields of political geography and sociology. I am particularly interested in urban-rural divides, political polarisation and agri-food transitions. In prior research I combined quantitative and qualitative methods, including regression analysis, GIS, discourse analysis and ethnographic fieldwork in rural communities. Within PROTEINSCAPES, I mainly employ quantitative data analysis. One part draws on survey data to explore local geographies of meat consumption, while another uses census data to examine the spatial concentration of intensive agriculture and its implications for protein transition and regional development.
Keywords: urban-rural divide, rural discontent, agri-food transitions, protein transition, meat consumption
