Denmark

Denmark are among the biggest producers and exporters of animal proteins, exceeding domestic consumption manyfold and hence representing key economic interests. The two countries have the highest animal density of Europe (meat and dairy production) (Eurostat 2023), and are home to some of the largest agro-industrial corporations (Danish Crown/Arla (DK)). Given the lower political party polarization on environmental issues, meat and dairy consumption and production are expected to be less politically salient and less associated with political polarization.
